Online Income: No Easy Money

How would you like to earn big money in the comfort of your own home by following a few easy steps Online?  What if I told you that the only thing that you would have to do is click on a couple of links all day, and that you would make $20 per click?

Does the scenario above sound good to you?  I can tell you without a doubt that it sounds great for me.  The problem?  We live in the real world, and opportunities like the one above don't really exist.  In fact, I'd say that your chances of being scammed or becoming an unwitting player in a money-laundering operation is astronomically higher than making easy money that easily.  I receive a ridiculous number of emails from obscure people from one country or another who give me some kind of sob story about a relative in the US dying.  The deceased person supposedly left them an inheritance, and the only way that they can obtain it is to have me deposit the money into an account for them.  My sentiment?  Well, I've made it pretty far in life without being sentenced to federal prison.  I would not want greed and lack of discretion to be my downfall now.

The hard truth is that if we want to make money, we have to work for it - sometimes very hard for it.  It's usually the case that the more money you earn, the harder that you work for it.  Now, there are times when it gets a little easier to generate income, after paying your dues early on.  However, the main idea is that you are working for the income that you receive.  If we are not careful, we can find ourselves caught up in the entitlement mentality of today.  That expectation of something for nothing can delude us into thinking that earning a living is easier than it really is.

What differentiates a successful business, online or otherwise, from one that is not successful?  You may claim that the successful business was the right idea at the right time.  You might also argue that the successful person had more money to invest and so on and so forth.  I concede that those variables to factor into success.  However, I also believe that in most cases the successful person worked harder, had more focus, more of a plan, and was willing to give up more.  I take my hat off to such individuals.  I have a great deal of admiration for many of them.  Furthermore, I'm thankful that the country in which I live is full of success stories of people who fit these criteria.
